Mysainsburys Payslips (Oursainsburys)- Login and Help
Welcome. Your payslip is one of the most important documents you receive as a Sainsbury’s colleague. It is your official record of what you earned, what was deducted, and what actually landed in your bank account. This page answers all of your questions about finding, reading, and saving it.
Where Are Sainsburys Payslips Stored?
Your Sainsburys payslips are stored digitally in the OurSainsburys employee portal, previously known as MySainsburys. There are no paper payslips. Every pay period, your payslip is uploaded to the portal as a PDF, and it stays there for you to view, download, or print whenever you need it.
You access them at: https://jsainsbury.sharepoint.com/sites/OurSainsburys
Sign in with your Sainsbury’s work email address and password. If you are logging in from home or a personal device, complete the Microsoft verification step. Once you reach the OurSainsburys dashboard, go to MyHR, then select Payslips. Your most recent payslip sits at the top. Click any pay date to open the full breakdown as a PDF.
One thing worth knowing: Sainsbury’s renamed the portal from mysainsburys.co.uk to oursainsburys.co.uk. Both addresses now reach the same Microsoft sign-in screen, so either works, but it is worth updating any old bookmarks to the new address.

When Does Your Payslip Appear?
Sainsbury’s pays on a four-weekly cycle, not monthly. That works out to 13 paydays a year rather than 12. Payday is always a Friday. Your payslip is normally in the portal on the Wednesday or Thursday before payday, usually from the morning onwards.
This early availability is deliberate. It gives you time to check your pay before it lands in your account, so any errors can be flagged and investigated promptly. If your payslip is not visible by Thursday, do not assume something is wrong. It may still be uploading in batches, so check again later that day. If it is still missing by Friday morning, contact your manager or HR.
How to Find Payslips in MySainsburys and OurSainsburys: Step by Step
- Go to https://jsainsbury.sharepoint.com/sites/OurSainsburys and sign in with your Sainsbury’s work email and password.
- Complete any verification step if prompted. This may be a code sent to your registered email or a Microsoft Authenticator prompt.
- On the OurSainsburys dashboard, find and click MyHR.
- Inside MyHR, look for Payslips or My Pay. The exact label may vary slightly depending on your role.
- Your payslips are listed by date, most recent at the top. Click any pay period to open it.
- The payslip opens as a PDF. Use the download icon to save it to your device, and print it from there if you need a hard copy.
A practical tip: save your payslips to a dedicated folder on your device every pay period. The portal holds a history, but there is no guarantee older payslips stay available indefinitely. If you ever need to show payslips for a mortgage application, rental reference, or loan, you need them saved. Do not rely on always being able to log in to retrieve them.

Can You View Payslips in the Colleague Hub App?
This is one of the most common questions colleagues ask. The short answer: the Colleague Hub app is not the right tool for payslips.
The Sainsbury’s Colleague Hub app is published by Sainsbury’s and available on both Android and iOS. Its main job is to help colleagues answer customer queries in-store and access company news and announcements. It is a useful companion app, but it was never built as a payroll tool.
Some versions may show limited pay information. For full, reliable access to your Sainsburys payslips, though — downloading PDFs, viewing previous pay periods, and getting your P60s — you need the web portal at oursainsburys.co.uk. That applies whether you are on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. The mobile browser version of the OurSainsburys portal works well for payslip access, so use that instead of the Colleague Hub app when you need to check your pay.
What Information Is on a Sainsbury’s Payslip?
Understanding your payslip stops errors from going unnoticed and helps you track your finances accurately. Here is what each section covers.
Your Personal Details
Your name, employee number (also called your clock number), National Insurance number, tax code, and the pay period dates the payslip covers. Check these are correct, especially your tax code. An incorrect tax code means you are paying too much or too little tax, and the consequences land on you, not the company.
Gross Pay
This is everything you earned before any deductions. It includes your basic pay (your hourly rate multiplied by your contracted or worked hours), plus any of the following that apply to you:
- Overtime — hours worked beyond your contracted hours
- Holiday pay — pay for annual leave taken in this period
- Sick pay — Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) or contractual sick pay if applicable
- Premium pay — enhanced rates for working nights, early mornings, Sundays, or bank holidays
- Bonus payments — any team or individual bonus if awarded
- Back pay — pay owed from a previous period that has been corrected
Deductions
These are amounts removed from your gross pay before you receive your net pay. Your payslip will show:
- Income Tax (PAYE) — deducted based on your tax code and earnings
- National Insurance (NI) — your employee NI contribution, calculated on qualifying earnings above the threshold
- Pension contributions — your share of the Sainsbury’s workplace pension, deducted automatically if you are enrolled
- Sainsbury’s Sharesave — monthly savings deduction if you have joined the Sharesave scheme
- Any other agreed deductions — for example, a salary advance repayment if applicable
Net Pay
This is the amount paid into your bank account. It is your gross pay minus all deductions. If the number looks lower than you expected, work through each deduction line to find the difference before contacting payroll.
Year-to-Date Totals
Your payslip shows cumulative figures for the tax year so far — total gross pay, total tax paid, and total NI paid since 6 April. These matter for checking against your P60 at the end of the year.
Your P60: What It Is and How to Find It
Your P60 is an annual summary of your total pay and the total tax deducted during the tax year, which runs from 6 April to 5 April the following year. You need it for mortgage applications, rental references, tax rebate claims, benefit applications, and self-assessment tax returns.
Sainsbury’s issues P60s digitally through the OurSainsburys portal. There is no paper copy posted to you. Your P60 appears in the same MyHR section as your payslips, usually under a tab labelled Tax Documents or Year-End Certificates. It is typically uploaded in April or May after the tax year ends, and your employer is legally required to issue it by 31 May.
Download your P60 every year and save it somewhere secure. You will need it more often than you expect.
Your P45: When You Leave Sainsbury’s
A P45 is issued when your employment ends. It shows your total pay and tax up to your leaving date, and your next employer needs it to set the correct tax code for your new job.
At Sainsbury’s, the P45 is generated automatically once your final pay has been processed. It may appear in the portal or be sent to your registered home address. Make sure your home address is up to date in MyHR before you leave, or it may go to an old address.
This part is critical: portal access is removed shortly after your last working day. As soon as your manager marks your contract as ended in the system, your login credentials are usually deactivated. You lose access to all your payslips, P60s, and documents at that point. Download everything you might need before your final shift. This is one of the most common mistakes former colleagues report — leaving without saving their payslip history, then being unable to retrieve it.
If you have already lost access and need old payslips or your P45, contact Payroll Support on 0345 603 5538 to request copies.
Common Sainsburys Payslip Problems and How to Fix Them
My Payslip Is Not Showing in the Portal
First, confirm you are looking in the right place. Go to MyHR, then Payslips — not a general dashboard or the company news page. If you are in the right section and the payslip is not there, check whether it is still before the Wednesday or Thursday upload window for your pay week. If payday has passed and the payslip is still missing, check with your manager whether your pay was processed, then contact HR on 0800 707 6242.
My First Payslip Is Missing
New starters sometimes wait longer for their first payslip. It depends on your start date falling within a complete pay period and your HR data being entered on time. If you started mid-period, your first payment may only cover a partial period, which can also affect when the payslip appears. Ask your manager to confirm that your HR profile has been fully activated and that your start data has reached payroll.
My Pay Looks Wrong — I Think I Have Been Underpaid
This is the problem colleagues raise most often on forums and employee communities. Common causes include:
- Unpaid short time — if you left a shift early on several occasions, even by a few minutes, those minutes are deducted automatically. Check your timecard in Kronos against your payslip hours.
- Induction hours not included — a first payslip often excludes induction hours if your manager did not log them correctly. Flag this immediately, as it can be corrected.
- Premium pay missing — if you worked nights, Sundays, or bank holidays and the enhanced rate is not showing, compare your shift records against the payslip and raise it with your manager.
- Wrong contracted hours used — if your contract was updated but the old hours are still on the system, payroll may be calculating from outdated data.
- Sick pay instead of normal pay — if absence was recorded incorrectly, it may have triggered SSP when normal pay should apply.
Whatever the cause, report it straight away. Payroll corrections are processed within pay periods. If you wait until the following month, corrections take longer and may be delayed further. Contact your manager first, then follow up with HR on 0800 707 6242 if it is not resolved quickly.
My Tax Code Looks Wrong
Your tax code appears at the top of your payslip and determines how much income tax is deducted. The most common standard code for someone with one job and no special circumstances is 1257L. If your code is different — particularly if it shows BR, 0T, or another emergency code — you may be paying too much tax.
Emergency codes are sometimes applied when HMRC does not yet have your employment details, or when a P45 from a previous employer was not processed correctly. Check the code on your first payslip and contact HMRC directly on 0300 200 3300 if it looks wrong. Your employer cannot change your tax code. Only HMRC can issue an updated one.
My Pension Deductions Look Higher Than Expected
Sainsbury’s auto-enrols colleagues into the workplace pension scheme. You will see your own contribution, and on some payslips the employer contribution is referenced too. If the deduction seems larger than expected, check whether your contribution rate has changed, whether a pay rise has moved your deduction into a higher band, or whether you are enrolled in a scheme tier you were not aware of. Contact HR for clarification if none of those explain the figure.
I Cannot Open My Payslip PDF
If the payslip loads but will not open, or shows as a blank screen, try downloading it first rather than previewing it in the browser. If the download also fails, switch browsers. Chrome, Edge, and Safari handle PDF rendering differently, and changing often fixes it. On mobile, if the PDF will not open in the portal browser, download it and open it with a dedicated PDF app.
My P60 Is Not in the Portal
P60s are uploaded in batches, typically through April and May after each tax year ends. If yours is not there and it is already past the end of May, contact payroll. They can arrange for it to be sent by email or post. If you need it urgently for a mortgage or rental application and cannot wait, payroll teams can usually turn a copy around faster when you explain the reason.
I Left Sainsbury’s and Cannot Access My Payslips
This is one of the most frequent complaints from former colleagues across discussion boards. Portal access ends quickly after employment does, sometimes within hours of your last shift. If you have already lost access, call Payroll Support on 0345 603 5538 and explain the situation. They can retrieve and send copies of payslips and tax documents. Have your employee number or clock number ready if you have it, and your National Insurance number as a backup identifier. If the payroll team cannot help directly, escalate to HR on 0800 707 6242.
The best prevention is simple. Download every payslip regularly throughout your employment, not just the last few. You never know when you will need one from two years ago for a financial application.
